African Lion Safari

An African  lion safari is an exciting way of visiting this great continent.

Many people travel to Africa just to see the African lion. A safari tour can easily take you to the areas where they congregate. They're often called  "King of the Jungle", but more correct would be "King of the Savannah". Its natural habitat is more the savannah or grasslands of Africa and not so much jungle. An African lion safari is one of the most exciting ways of visiting this continent.

An African lion safari can take you to one or more of the following countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. A number of animals in Africa can be potentially dangerous: lions, elephants, rhinos and buffaloes are some of them. Also beware of snakes and scorpions. Never swin in rivers where crocodiles and hippos live.

But the real "danger" on an African lion safari may come from a much smaller animal: the mosquito. In malaria-sensitive areas it is wise to take some precautions like applying insect repellent and wearing long pants, long sleeved slothing and boots or high walking shoes. Always wear a hat against the sun.
