Gorilla Safari Rwanda

Going on a Gorilla safari in Rwanda is a great adventure.

People who have been on a Gorilla safari in Rwanda say that it has been a once in a lifetime experience. Looking into the soft brown eyes of a mountain gorilla touches someting deep within you. This ape is the rarest of all the apes. Only 600 of them are left in Uganda, Rwanda and the DRC in East Africa. Only a few have been accustomed to human presence, so a gorilla safari in Rwanda is a real privilege.

A gorilla safari in Rwanda is made in the Virunga Volcanoes National Park. Be prepared to hike through some rugged country with steep hills, thorny trees and tangled vines. But it's all worth while when you see a baby gorilla up a tree, or a female munching on a branch or a silverback pounding his chest.

When you go on a gorilla safari in Rwanda you'll need a permit. This permit should be obtained in advance and gives you one hour audience with the gorillas. Overexposure to human contact is harmful to the apes. This permit doesn't guarantee a sighting, so be aware of that. The gorillas are free to go where they want.
